I’m on my way to the Blairsville, GA Quiltfest 2011, sponsored by the Misty Mountains Quilt Guild, this weekend. A great way to celebrate a birthday! I hope to bring lots of pictures and “goodies,” of which one can never have enough. Oh, and there is also the fabric! One can never have enough of that.
I’ll be interested in visiting the “guild boutique,” participate in the silent auction, and hopefully bring home some door prizes. But most of all, it will be fun to see the wonderful work of the North Georgia quilters who have entered their quilts in the competition, as well as those who are just exhibiting their work. It’s always good to see what everybody else is doing, what new techniques are being used, and perhaps get some inspiration for new quilt designs, as well as learn new tricks and tips from fellow quilters. I can’t think of a better way to spend my birthday.
Details of the event can be found here.
