I’m taking this class on color and design whereby we are to use a template, or grid, and make two different designs by changing the colors inside that grid. So far we’ve completed 9 sessions, for a total of 18 blocks. Each pair of blocks utilize the same grid, but two different designs emerge, as you can see from the photos below.

It is a great class, I’ve learned a lot, and it has helped stretch my imagination. I have also realized that one doesn’t also have to mimic someone else’s design or pattern, but it’s actually possible to go outside one’s comfort zone. Stay tuned for sessions 9 and 10, and eventually, the entire quilt!
