It’s been a long time since my last post, but a lot has happened since September 2012. For starters, right after my beautiful Opus-boy passed away, we got ready for the move from Georgia to North Carolina. Finally landed in beautiful Western NC last November.
Welcome to Black Mountain
Not a lot time left for quilting during those first months, considering the holidays came right at the heels of the move.
I’m happily settled in now, having joined the local quilt guild (http://www.ashevillequiltguild.org/) and a couple of quilting groups around town as well. I also was able to create my own quilting space in our very small cottage–having downsized after leaving GA–where I’ve been busy sewing (another reason for not having been actively posting, since I find it difficult to choose between sewing and “computing.”). However, I’ve managed to get a few projects finished, some of which are being sold at Marshall Arts, my daughter’s arts & crafts business (http://marshallcommunityarts.wordpress.com/), which sets up each Tuesday and Thursday at Earth Fare, Asheville’s organic supermarket (https://www.earthfare.com/), and Saturdays & Sundays in Hot Springs, NC.
If you happen to be in the neighborhood, you should stop by. In addition to my quilts, they have very lovely works of art and crafts made from local materials, as well as beautiful photographs taken in and around Appalachia.
